About Us
On first glance, the City of York appears to be incredibly affluent however, it has the third largest gap between the rich and the poor in England. The Besom exists to help bridge that gap. The Besom in York was started by Rob and Sam 16 years ago and we have helped churches and christians give their money, time and items to hundreds of people across our city. We are here to help you understand more about God's heart for justice and to grow in your relationship with him as you help those most in need in our city.
Update - March 2025
Our office is open on Mondays 10am - 2pm, Tuesdays 9am - 12pm and Wednesdays 10am - 2pm. We are still operating at a reduced capacity. Besom are not currently accepting referrals from professionals, but Bundles of Joy are still open for referrals (see below). We are also unable to take any furniture at this time. We hope to open in a fuller capacity at the end of the month.

Bundles of Joy
Bundles of Joy is part of the Besom in York family and was founded by Carly and Rachel in 2016. We help people give their baby items to those who need them. We receive referrals from midwives, health visitors, social workers, homeless prevention charities etc. and then deliver donated items to the people referred to us once a week.
